How to Make Lip Balm

Evening All

What a lovely day it was today here in Paisley.  I spent the day doing a variety of things, including attempting to tidy my craft room, it doesnt look any better :)

I thought tonight I would talk about lip balm, it is so so easy to make, natural & nourishing.

What you need;

An old milk pot and a silicone spatula,

Essential Oils or Lip Balm Flavouring & a teaspoon for measuring,

Sweet Almond Oil & a tablespoon for measuring,

Pure Beeswax Pellets & a tablespoon to measure,

Vitamin E Capsules and a sterile pin to put a hole in to squeeze out the oil,

Empty 15ml Aluminium Tins for the final product, I steam these before they are used to kill any bacteria,

The finished product above, & below, wrapped and labelled for sale.

Ingredients;
  • 2 tablespoons Pure Beeswax Pellets
  • 3 tablespoons Sweet Almond Oil
  • ½ teaspoon chosen Essential Oil or Flavouring
  • 1 vitamin E capsule
Method;
  • Place Beeswax & Almond Oil in a pot on a low heat until melted, add Essential Oil & Vit E, mix well take off heat, continue to mix and then pour into new tin containers.

And thats it, yip its really that simple and if you dont use flavouring and only use the essential oil it can also be used as a cuticle softener.

Have a lovely night everyone & Happy Crafting

Amanda xx
