Golden Wedding Anniversary Card

Happy Friday

So this is the last of the crafty stuff for a little while, I do have another Wedding Anniversary card, a very Special Birthday Card, a 1st Birthday Card and a couple of 30th Birthday Cards for my wonderful Sister to do so there will be updates at these times.

This is an 8x8 Golden Wedding card that was ordered by a dear friend of my Mums.  This was another card that I really struggled and left to the last minute but was again happy with how it turned out.

I used some Mirri card which was embossed by hand so that it wasn't too over the top, a La Pashe topper, great company who have card toppers for every possible occasion, some handmade paper, lots of adhesive pearls, gold glitter and sentiments that were taken from an online verse writer and adapted within Do Crafts Digital Designer.

Very simple edging created by hand embossing and adding pearl centres.  everything was lifted by some ultra fine gold glitter with a large flower and bow to finish.  I didn't feel that the card would benefit from additional sentiments and let the colour and "50" speak for themselves.

The insert is made up from a piece of velum, handcrafted paper, sentiment and a few adhesive pearls.  This was attached with ultra clear tape and 3D glue Gel.

A very dimensional card, the topper is a very detailed decoupage and everything popped together using 3D glue gel.
Well, have a lovely weekend.  Hope its a crafty one,

Wedding Day Card in Bridemaid Colours - Purple

Good Day Friends

This was the wedding card that I have been talking about doing for months and put off and put off till the last min. In fact it was done the day before it was required and I finally had the inspiration to get it finished.  When I say I had the inspiration, I didn't really, it came from my lovely Mum.

I was pleased with how it turned out and fulfils its job perfectly.

Another demon put to bed, hopefully wedding cards wont be so daunting in the future.

Boofle on Fathers Day

Morning

As you can see I have had a few days last week of quick crafting due to Fathers Day.  This was the card that I popped together for my Dad.  I used the Do Crafts Digital Designer for the wording and also the decoupage.  This meant that it was very easy to pop together.

I inked the edges of the card and stamped with a button stamp using blue and beige, the colours from the Boofle image.  I then just simply cut out the decoupage and popped together with 3D glue gel.  Simple but effective and again perfect if time is not on your side.

Isn't Boofle fab?

The inside just decorated the same as the outside to tie it all together.  The sentiments where taken from an online verse writer and transferred into Do Crafts Digital Designer.

Just a wee photo showing the dimension of the decoupage, again showing that CD crafting doesn't mean everything has to be flat and one dimensional.

I am not a fan of the shaped cards as my cutting out of shapes is not that great and therefore I avoid them.  I will however try to use these more with stamping and inking techniques due to this turning out OK.

Fathers Day Waterfall Card

Good Morning

Just a quickie to show a card that I made for a friend for his Dad.  Fathers Day, like Mothering Sunday is the perfect time to thank our parents for all the love and support that they give us through the year.  I always say thank you for everything, no matter how small but having a day dedicated to this thanks is perfect.  I have said before that time is so precious and to have a day set aside to give this is more precious than any gift that can be bought in a shop.

The waterfall part of the card has used images provided in a kit form.  The sentiments and verse were both done using Do Crafts Digital Designer, the verse coming from an online verse writer.

Something different for me but so very quick and effective.  This style of card always looks far more complicated than it actually is.  Great for when you are short on time.

Happy Crafting.

Fresh Scents Scotland, Gift Basket & Girlie Card

Good Afternoon Bloggers

Its been a while, I have been uber busy trying to find a new full time job.  I had forgotten just how stressful and demoralising looking for employment can be.  I think the hardest thing is when you receive the letters of rejection especially the ones that say thanks but no thanks and don't let it put you off applying again in the future......hmmm well if you don't tell me why i was unsuccessful would i really be looking to be rejected again in the future, maybe not.  Although it is equally demoralising when you have no reply at all.  Its times like this when I really feel for those who have been looking for suitable employment for a long time, I at least have a part time role whilst looking which eases the pressure slightly.

I have 3 interviews this week and so to say I am stressed is a bit of an understatement.  I really hope to be successful in at least one of these positions.

o with this and other changes at home I have had little to no time to craft at all over the last wee while and its looking to be the pattern for the future.  I will be looking to sell up all the jewellery and soap/bath bomb making equipment and current stock to free up space and just keep card making as my hobby going forward.

In the meantime, I have a few posts for this week with commissions that I have been asked to complete.

The first was just a little smelly basket made up from a selection of Fresh Scents Scotland products.  There was no colour theme for this and so it ended up being all lovely and bright.  I also had to include a birthday card which was DL size and feature some girly shoes.

I was actually really pleased with it and happy that it was well received.  I miss putting these together for people, it is a shame that the business has not done better but in this climate it was to be expected.

I do hope you are all well and business is good.

Make time for crafting people, it is therapeutic, productive and enhances everyones life.  Even if it is just a card for someone to say hi, or that you love them or miss them.  These are not only lovely little surprises but also gifts of your time and time is such a precious commodity in this day and age.

Happy Crafting Friends,
