Tags - The Sky is the Limit?

Happy Friday!!

What a quick week it has been this week.  I am working tomorrow so not quite the end of the week for me yet but nearly there.

This months Tag Swap theme was "The sky is the limit".  I had thought of doing hot air balloons as this was the first thing that came to mind, however, one of my crafty friend who was super organised posted pictures of their creations and one of them featured hot air balloons!! Great minds think alike!

I decided to go along the route of a quote that I am quite fond of and incorporate it as a star sign horoscope.  It was very simple but has worked out OK.

This was simply some black card with an eyelet added to make it into a rectangle tag.  I used a silver Painty Marker to add all the detail and gems for the stars to make the constellation which represents the crab and added the names of the stars.

Same as above, just a different shape.

Well both very simple but due to time issues I think they are OK and I am sure will find a place in someones collection.

Have a great weekend everyone, whatever you get up to.  I have the family Christmas cards to make, I may add a few posts showing some of the generic ones next week.

Much love

ATC - Art Deco Theme

Hello Friends

Just a quick post to show you this months ATC swaps.  The theme we were given was "Art Deco".  This is not an era that I am particularly fond of and wasn't really looking forward to doing them, in fact, I even thought of giving it a miss!!

Not to be one to let the side down I did a little research on the web and basically used a couple of stain glass deco designs that I came across with free copyright and gave it a go.

I actually enjoyed putting my own spin on them and I am please with the outcome, however, it has not made me want to take up doing Deco images in any of my work.

This is a Deco Thistle which is outlined with a Letraset Fine liner, coloured using Metallic Watercolours & Sakura Coloured Glitter Gel Pens.

This was based on a Deco Mantel Clock, the ones that come in three separate pieces.   I used the design, again outlined with fine liner and coloured with Sakura Metallic Glitter Pens.  I cut these out and mounted on card which was coloured with metallic paint.  Before attaching to the backing card I linked together with ribbon and stuck in a couple of feathers.  These were attached using red line tape.
Well nearly the weekend, hope everyone has plans to spend it wisely, definitely the quickest two days of the week!!

Happy Crafting.

House Mouse ATC's 2

Mid week, this makes me happy :o)

Another couple of ATC's, these ones are shaker style ones though and again using the leftovers from the 40th Card.  I love these, really pleased with them and definitely going to make more!

Art Deco ATC's to come later in the week, I wasn't sure that I would enjoy making them as not really a fan of Deco style but I have done one and it was actually good fun.

House Mouse ATC's 1

Hiya!!

Back to work for me today but thought I would show you the House Mouse ATC's that I made from the left overs from making the 40th card I made at the weekend.  They will be winging their way to a couple of the ladies from the ATC group for their collections.

This is slightly smaller than usual as I have used the ribbon to make up the size.

I do hope they like them :o)

Much Love

Digistamp Dreams Postcards

Happy Monday!!

Its been a super quick weekend but I am lucky enough to have today off and it will be spent crafting hopefully.

Last week the lovely Phill Martin from Honeypot Crafts launched his lovely new Digistamp Dreams Collection.  The digistamps are just gorgeous and not only that he has a wonderful offer on at the moment, pop on over to http://www.honeypotcrafts.co.uk/digistamp-dreams-67-c.asp to see more, you will not be disappointed.

I thought I would use a couple of the stamps for the swaps group postcards and I am pleased with how they have turned out.  I haven't used my Promarkers in a long time so it was good to relax some and colour but I so need a bit more practice.

Happy Crafting Friends.

House Mouse 40th Card

Morning All

I know, I know, two blogs in two days!!

I have been working with Joanna Sheen's House Mouse Project Book.  It is fantastic especially so if you have a crafty block as the projects are simply followed but can be adapted to suit yourself like I have done if you feel creative.

This card is 8x8 size.  I have used a white 8x8 card blank, printed two sheets from the project CD, one sheet of purple Centura pearl, Sakura clear glaze pen & coloured glitter pens, clear acetate, gold sequins, lemon ribbon, red line tape, foam tape, double sided tape.

This is the finished card.  I cut a sheet of the backing paper to 7.5x7.5 and attached to card with double sided tape.   The House Mouse topper was attached to the card with double sided tape, I highlighted sections with the Sakura Pens to give glitter & glaze.  To create the window I cut a piece of the purple card down to size and then used a craft knife to to cut out an aperture from the centre and attached a piece of clear acetate across the back with double sided tape.
I then placed a small pile of gold sequins in the centre of the topper and used foam tape to secure the aperture window.  You must ensure that there are no gaps at all in the foam tape so that the sequins stay in the window section but are free to move around creating the shaker effect.
The sentiment was then layered on a piece of Centura Pearl and then attached with foam pads to add dimension.
Red line tape was used to attach the the sequins top & bottom instead of gems.

The bow was added to the card with red line tape.  The tails of the bow were twisted and fixed in place in the same way.

This just shows the dimension of the card that the foam pads & having the twisted bow create.

The insert was a piece of left over Centura Pearl cardstock & a small topper from the printed sheet.  The poem was created in Craft Artist Professional.
This was a 40th card for my other half's sister, turns out she isn't 40 till next year lol, so I am super organised!!!

well that's it from me for today, enjoy your Sunday everyone.

Much Love

The swaps received from my crafty friends.

Hello Bloggers

Apologies for the lack of updates recently, working life has taken over so I have been far too tired to do any sort of crafting on a regular basis.

Just thought you may want to see the first set of swaps from the ATC group that I joined.  They are all fantastic, one group of very talented ladies!!

Next months challenge has been set so I am already working on those, loving the group.  It is amazing what different things you try when someone else sets the theme for your crafting and also the different ways that we all interpret the same theme.

Angela the founder of the group has a gallery on the website and plenty of crafting goodies at great prices so if you are in need of inspiration or just a few crafty bits, stop by - http://www.crazicards.co.uk/

German Shepard Card using Paws for Thought CD

Woohoo!!

Hello People, what have you all been up to?

Just thought I would take some time out to show you a card that I put together for my Sister's Birthday.  You will have seen from a post ages ago where I did a few scrap booking pages with Craft Artist featuring her lovely German Shepard "Zeus", so I took the opportunity to make a card using the German Shepard from Cupcake Crafting's "Paws for Thought" CD.  I am very pleased with it, it has turned out lovely.

For this card I used an 8x8 White Hunkydory Card Blank, items printed from the CD, an A4 sheet of Rainbow Mirri Card, deep red adhesive pearls, Sakura Clear Glaze Pen & coloured Sakura Glitter Gel Pens, silver corner peel-offs, double sided tape, PVA glue and foam pads.

I cut the backing paper down to size, attached to the card using double sided tape and added silver corner peel-offs to finish. I layered the topper and personalised sentiment onto Rainbow Mirri board and attached to the card using foam pads.  The flowers were also from the CD, these were cut, shaped and highlighted using coloured Sakura Glitter Gel Pens, they all have a lovely red adhesive stone in the centre and attached to the card using PVA glue.

This is a twisted decoupage topper which I put together using tiny foam pads.  I used the Sakura Clear Glaze Pen to add the wet look to the dogs nose, eyes and poppy centres.  I used the Sakura coloured Glitter Gel Pens to pick out some other details such as the deep red poppies, long grass and highlights in the dogs coat, it gives a lovely glitter sheen.

Personalised matching insert attached using double sided tape.

Well that's me for tonight.

Happy Crafting!!

Hiya!

Evening All

Just a quick update to say "hiya".  I have been neglecting the crafting lately due to being back at work and also trying to fit the gym in and spend time with my lovely furry wee animals :)

I am going to make a few cards this weekend, one of which will be a 40th but I may actually just buy one, maybe.

Hoping you are all well and have all the Christmas crafting out of the way.   I am already thinking of cards and new scents of bath bombs for the Spring, a bit of a restock on the website for the new year.

Oh and while i am promoting the website, anyone local to Paisley inc. Glasgow can place orders for baskets of goodies to be made up, wrapped in cello or popped into a Christmas bag.  Perfect for secret Santa's or for those whom you are a wee bit stuck.

Pop on over to www.freshscentsscotland.com for the items we are holding in stock and then rather than purchase through the site, drop me a wee email through the address on the contacts page and I will get back to you.

Sending everyone lots of love & hugs in my absence
